ISLAMABAD, Oct 13: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said cooperation by Turkish media would help Pakistan improve its image in Europe and other parts of the world.The information minister hailed the agreement signed on Wednesday between the Associated Press of Pakistan and Anadolu Agency of Turkey for enhancing media cooperation between the news agencies of the two countries.
She said the agreement was very significant since it would greatly help raise the image of Pakistan in the international community.
Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan while talking to Pakistan Television said that Turkish media could help introduce Pakistan as an “enlightened moderate society” to Europe and international community.
She called for improving the capacity of Pakistan’s information institutions including Television, Radio and Associated Press of Pakistan.
She said discussions had been held for the purpose to enhance the efficiency of these institutions with modern equipment and tools, besides introducing short courses and imparting technical training from Turkey.
