Dr Firdous, Sharjeel Memon discuss political situation, rehabilitation process in Sindh


asharjeeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllllll.jpgISLAMABAD:Sindh Provincial Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sharjeel Inam Memon Thursday called on Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and discussed with her ongoing political situation in the country and activities to  rehabilitate flood-affected people in Sindh.Dr Firdous Ashiq said that Crisis Communication Centre set up in Press Information Department (PID),Islamabad was working round the clock for providing latest situation in the calamity-hit areas and emphasized on the need of further coordination and collaboration between the federal and provincial governments regarding information sharing.
The federal minister said that the nation had always faced natural disasters with a sense of unity and assured that Pakistan would emerge out of hardships as a stronger nation.
Dr Firdous said that capacity-building of the provincial government’s institutions to face the challenges is priority of the federal government.
Both the federal and provincial ministers appreciated the role of media in highlighting the plight of the flood-stricken people in Sindh province and hoped that it would continue to play positive role in facing the challenges in future.
Dr Fridous said: “The present government believes in freedom of expression and has taken several steps for development and expansion of the free media in the country”.
Sharjeel Memon said that the Media Coordination Cell set up in Karachi has been working in close coordination with the PID Crisis Communication Centre.
